Does the ignore list affect blitz games?
I put somebody on my ignore list because he kept sending me rude messages during a blitz game.

When I check the rules (gameknot.com) for the ignore list, it says nothing about blitz games. It says "The following players will not be able to send you private messages, challenge you, join your open games nor will you see their game comments. Please note that tournaments, league games, team games, etc. are not protected by the ignore list."

Could a sysadmin for GameKnot.com please clarify this? Thanks!

I believe actually your ignore list does NOT affect blitz games.

This is something they will have to think about when sorting out the blitz, if indeed they plan to.

Perhaps it would be a good idea of instead of ignore lists to cover blitz, just have a "chat off" button to click on to during or prior the blitz game. There are one or two blitz sites that I know of that have this feature and it works great. No more bad remarks from that player again in the future if and when you meet him again in the blitz room.Just turn chat on again for the next player.

That sounds like a useful feature, winds_of_wisdom. Let's lobby the gameknot admins to add this feature. Either that or make the ignore list cover blitz games too.

I'll let you guys get involved with the politics and suggestions to the admin. They are probably reading these forums anyway.I have a 1000 suggestions, but being new here I feel its probably better to let the veterans of the site do the rallying. There might be a technical problem, for example, linking the ignore list to the blitz site,or the software upgrade may involve too much fancy footwork.I,for one would not like to see the ignore list linked to the blitz site, because you may find that over the years, your ignore list might be as long as your pants leg!Its better to just click on a "chat off" feature. In a way its better, because it gives your opponent a strong message to "zip it",while still being able and willing to play him, which seems more fair and "humane" to me.And if enough opponents begin to turn the "chat off" feature on the opponent, they will begin to get a strong message regarding their inappropiate behavior. If your worried about the same player sending you private messages, you would still have the ignore list and the record of the message itself that can be looked at by the admin.
