unrated/private game questions
Being new on this site,I still have an occassional question.
I know that playing an unrated game does not affect my rating regardless of the outcome.
I also know that the unrated game results and game board are shown in the past game history. But,are the "results"of the game reflected in the win/loss/draw stats on the top of my profile page or in the other sections in the middle of the page?Or is the results of the unrated game 100% ignored in the stats, including "highest win, loss ect?

Also, what is this private game option exactly? Can I play unrated and private at the same time and are the results ever visible?I'm not sure how to engage a private game, where exactly are the clicks?
Thanks all!

Unrated games do not affect any stats. The games will show up in your past games history though. Private games are not accessible by players other than you and your opponent while the game is in progress (they are hidden and do not show up anywhere). However, when a private game has been finished, it will show up in your past games normally and its moves history accessible after a certain amount of time.

thx heinzkat.
I must be missing it somewhere, but how exactly do I proceed to initiate this "private game" feature?

Private and unrated games can only be initiated when challenging a player directly.

Take a look at "Game type: public/private". For an unrated game you have to tick the box next to
"Unrated game:".

I see now, missed it somehow.I was more concerned about anything at all showing up in the profile page, because theoretically results can show up on a profile page, even though the rating would not be affected in an unrated game....but not on GK as you say.I will be experimenting with some irregular openings in the future and I will be placing myself in slightly disadvantageous opening positions for experimental purposes, with higher loss probability...thus an unrated game would be logical.
Too bad one does not have the option to "keep" the game results permanently private if both players agree.I think this would be a good option to keep a certain game, opening or different variation unviewable for surprise value and advantage in future games.
