Ding vs Nepo

The world championship is coming up.

Ding's terrible performance at the Tata Steel event was surprising.
I imagine Nepo will win rather easily. Giri said he is going to focus on classical chess and hopefully make it into the next candidates tournament.

I watch a lot of chess but the classical world championship is a must see event for me.

Crashed and burned...

I rather think Nepo lost a match he might have won rather than Ding winning a match he might have lost.

In that final game, Nepo had a comfortable draw. He pressed for more and got a losing game. Somehow he managed, with scanty material, to fight himself back into a draw game. Then he pressed for more...

It was not an easy watch.
