Position from "Critical Thinking" movie
The following position is from the film "Critical Thinking" available on NetFlix. The film is based on the true story of the 1998 Miami Jackson High School chess team, the first inner-city team to win the U.S. National Chess Championship. At 46:12 into the movie the following position is achieved between Ito and his opponent: It's white's turn to move and win in three moves. Message me your solution and I'll announce the solvers and the solution in a week or two. Bonus question: what theme is employed by white in order to win?

I should re-phrase the last paragraph: It's white's turn to move and achieve a *wining position* in three moves with mate to follow.

I knew instantly that it was more than 3 moves to mate. And I have the solution,no matter how black moves. However,I will leave that up to others for the experience.Nice game and good luck to all.A very famous game, indeed.

Technically, there is more than one way to mate, depending upon both black and white. But if it is a specific way to mate, based upon that movie(which I have not seen and I do not remember the exact game),then I would not be sure myself. But,I do not want to give away too many hints.

ahhh...silona. You were suppose to message the solution to Mark,as he asked above, not write the solution in this thread,so that others make take a jab at it on their own.Just saying. Best, TA

Silona...
My suggestion is that YOU delete your post and let others have a chance at solving it.
