Chess Masters who helped & gave to others.
I think it's important in chess to remember those chess masters who contributed and gave to others and helped enlighten there chess. One such name was I.M. Michael Basman, I had the immense pleasure of meeting him several times and what a true gentleman he was, always willing to talk and discuss his love for chess.

I along with a retired school teacher we used to mini bus children up and down the UK to Michael Basman's Schools for Chess program where local chess competitions between schools were organised, it was a way of spreading the world of chess to our youngsters and was truly satisfying to be involved. Michael Basman was always there on final completion day to award certificates to the young winners.
When I heard over a year ago of Basman's death it was a sad day he is surely missed a lovely guy who helped so many enlighten there world with chess.
