Welcome to our very active team "64 Squares--7 Continents", our goal is to enjoy playing chess and be a competitive team. Our ultimate goal is to be at or near #1 on Gameknot!! We want members that like to play chess at a competitive level with a team concept in mind.

"64 Squares--7 Continents" as most know represents the 8 files and 8 ranks on the chess board, hence the 64 squares where the battle takes place. With the help of the internet we are able to play this great game with people from all over the world. The game of chess transcends language, race, religion, politics, gender, and socioeconomic background. Whatever your circumstances you can enjoy a game of chess!

TIMEOUTS

Timeouts are very detrimental to team play. We know emergencies can occur. If you get in a position where you think you might not be able to get online to make a move on time please take advantage of the vacation process, it is pretty simple to use. Timeouts should not happen. If you are playing a lost game please be considerate to your opponent and in the spirit of good sportsmanship please play it out or resign.

1st timeout, you get a yellow card (warning) and a 7 day ban (no new team games)
2nd timeout, you get a red card and are removed from the team.
If you don't timeout a 2nd time within 12 months, you then get the yellow card removed.
If you do unfortunately timeout please message myself (pawnpusher47) why the timeout happened, thanks!!
