This team is very unusual. THE Red, White and Blue (RW&B) Chess Team (originally called The Red, White & Blue Chess Club) is for every person in the world that stands with Americans playing chess. Recon, our founder, formed the RW&B on December 21, 2003.

From the start, the team has stood for the ideals of liberty and opportunity that have made the USA a beacon of hope, commemorated the innocent victims of terrorism who tragically perished on September 11, 2001 and other dates, and shown the world that people from every country can unite by playing chess together. Of course, we also have had lots of fun and won lots of games!

We have only a few rules. As you might expect, we do not tolerate forfeits due to failing to make timely move (a/k/a "timeouts"). "If a player does not answer the captain/co-captains request for an explanation as to why there are timeouts AFTER two messages...then said player is removed from the team." (added 7/30/12)

In addition, we believe "If you can't say anything good about another member or player at Gameknot, don't say it." Good sportsmanship is the cornerstone of our philosophy.

The motto of the RW&B is "You are either with us or playing against us!" If you are interested in joining one of the best teams at GameKnot, contact either the Captain, coiahaz, or our co-captain dontru7. We guarantee that you will have fun, meet people from around the world, and have lots of challenging opponents to play.

We let persons join our team regardless of whether their chess ratings are high or low so long as they have a proven record of not timing out. We are ALWAYS seeking new players. We strongly prefer registered GameKnot members and players who have 3% or less timeouts, unless you are personally known to a team member.

Hobo56, our first co-captain, unfortunately passed away May 14, 2005. Recon, our founder and long-time captain, passed away untimely exactly one year later on May 14, 2006. They are sorely missed and will always be on this team as captains. Now we honor them as "Saint Pete" and "Saint Bobby," and they watch our team from above. Another fallen member is AmericanGM, who passed away in October 2005. He was a real-life GM who had only recently joined the team. We also owe a special thanks to former Captains Coiahaz, Lonescope and Crazyhorse.
