please answer the question
what do you mean by ;Using the same % today would mean 18 -vs- 32. Now look at the abilities of the people in those States and the skills to use the equipment available to them. How do you think things would play out today?

so
Since you will not answer my question i will have to extrapolate from your previous posts. Are you saying that if 51% of the country votes for President Obama in a fair election then you think there should be a horrible civil War, because the minority didn't get its way? And you think the South will be able to finally get its revenge for loosing the civil War. Rather then compromise you would tear the country apart with millions dead and millions wounded? I hope your not saying that!! I really hope not. That would make you a...... skin head would it not? Tell me it isn't so!!! please!!!! The last time in History that compromise was not possible, the Civil War erupted. I only point to that because we as a country are at a cross road. The Democrat's have offered compromise and the GOP refuses to compromise. So please answer my question'; are you saying that War is preferable to health care for you and your children. Are you saying that War is preferable to making the ultra rich pay the same taxes as the rest of us??. I await your answer.

Compromise
What percentage of taxes would you like the wealthy to pay? What is fair?

"The 10% of households with the highest incomes pay more than half of all federal taxes. They pay more than 70% of federal income taxes, according to the Congressional Budget Office."

Read this article from a fact check when Buffet thought he would wedge in..www.usatoday.com

So, again, what do you want the wealthy to pay? Please tell me.

Let's have a rational discussion on the matter....

i don't want the wealthy to pay more taxes. I want them to pay at the same rate they did during the Clinton Administration. I want the oil subsidies to stop. I want the corporate tax to up. When you give Tax breaks that favor people with a lot of money how are you going to make up for the revenue loss?? !! At the state level they fire teachers and firemen, and law enforcement. At the federal level they lay off federal workers. That's how!!. All for what? so rich people can get richer?.They are not the job creators. A vibrant middle class does that. Even with just letting the Bush tax cuts expire the Rich are still going to get richer!!. But i am reasonable and think that social programs should get cuts. Defense should get big cuts, and the big tax cut that Bush put through should expire. But no new taxes.(i know you will say that's a tax hike). After 10-years when the deficit is paid down and the infrastructure is updated. (putting everyone back to work, thus bringing in tons of revenue)..Then we can start lowering taxes again..) Again; Even with a big tax hike the rich will still get rich!! Bring the Heavy Divisions based in Europe home. Bring home the 100.000 troops in Afghanistan. (that is being done as we speak) Stop pork barrel defense spending on weapons the Pentagon has said they don't want (democrats and the GOP have to stop doing that). All i want is a fair system where everyone gets a fair shot. The system we have now is tilted in favor of the wealthy and Corporate interests . It has been is rigged.

The first part of your liberal talking points was pretty tiresome, but when you got down to actual, concrete proposals and ideas, I can agree with you.

Well done...

you will make a very good conservative in a few years after proper training on how to break up those long run-on sentences into meaningful, easy to read paragraphs.

a lot of the right-wing talking points that you guys through at me are getting really really tiresome to me also!!. But sorry, for i can not return the compliment. You guys have laid out 'no' compromises at all, none,Nada, zip. Just smoke and mirrors.

Not too hard to hit a bright pink target, zippin around on a CR60.

I had a Suzuki RM125 in eighth grade. Dat was fun. The rear suspension was completely shot, so it served as a catapult after each patch of uneven terrain, which was most of the time. There was a kid on each block with a dirt bike.

My neighbors were serious competitors. The father had a Mako 500. Big boy machine.

Ok, you guys can get back to your arguments now.

BC...I am willing to look at what you are saying.
Forget who is running for office for a minute. Let's talk about what they should be doing. That is what matters, right!

What kind of tax system would you like to see? Talk to me more about your vision of things.

BC impatiently to Thumper says;
"Since you will not answer my question i will have to extrapolate from your previous posts."

You may not understand this but I do have a life away from GK. That being said, you can extrapolate whatever you wish. Extrapolations are only as good as the quality of data used and the honesty of evaluation applied so knock yourself out and extrapolate.

"Shall I tell you what NY State is called?"

-LOL.. have at it 'Hoss. I would much prefer to live in your area than here... I'm no fan of this city. I wish I would never have to set foot in it again. Give me a southern beach, surrounded by rednecks and I'd be very happy... I once was.
