Polite request
jonstherealdeal(1993) is the only volunteer so far for the 1800-2000 section, and we have only had two requests for the 2000-2200 section and 2 for the 2200-2400 section, so I suggest I run a 5 player tournament 1850-2400 with dynamic_dv(2102), shamash(2319), jonstherealdeal(1993) and brigadecommander(2219). So whoever is running this 1600-1800 section, can you make it 1600-1850 please, in case we get any 1800-1850 players who want to join in?
I notice that pawnstar2010, ubermensch43 and a_random_guy are all paying members, so any of you can start a tournament, if one of you can start a tournament on June 15 please?

Time control
I posted the same for the open tourney. I am just inquiring about the time control since it is already the 13th. 2-day per move? 2-day+1? 3-day per move? 3-day+1? I hope not 5 or 7 day, that would be ridiculously slow.... Please let me know ASAP, if at all possible....

I wholeheartedly agree with you. If my own volition had anything to do with it, I would not mind even 1-day per move but unfortunately I don't think GK makes allowance for this, or does it???

Good question! As no one else has mentioned it, I would guess we would go along with your suggestion of a quicker rather than a slower time control, unless others wanting to play in it want a slower rate. I may be wrong, but I believe the fastest time control you can have in this type of tournament is 3 days a move, plus an extra day for moving, up to a maximum of 5 days a move.

Well! I hope you are wrong and that we could have it at least 2 days per move as requested by both maximilian and me...!!! In any case, if true that the fastest time control we can have is 3day+1, then, by all means let's have it 3 days for the first move(s), then a day thereafter, if at all possible.??

I am sorry, 3day + 1 means that you have 3 days to make your first move, and if you make it immediately, you get an extra day, i.e. 4 days to make your next move. The only thing is that players may make a private agreement to make at least one move a day, but this would not be enforceable in any way.

I guess there is nothing that can be done then, but I think I receive and send 2-day per move challenges all the time in my team games... Can it be that GK allows such a time control for team challenges and not for tourneys...???? Anyway, may be we need to investigate this to be sure...?? I guess, for worse, I will accept 3-day per move, plain and simple, without any reference to a 5 or more days, PLEASE!!!!

The time debate
I prefer to have 3+ day games myself, purely to have a safety net for if I am away for the weekend or something similar. I almost always make at least one move per game per day, but sometimes...
