Solution time is slow
Don't know why the average time to solve would be so slow (seemed pretty easy to me). I think maybe too many solving with computers!

It is summer and very hot in the USA. Maybe the heat slows one's mind. I doubt if computers are involved, since the time to solve would be very fast. I used Gameknot's computer and it only took 25 seconds to find a different solution using the same key move of 2.Bxh6 --

1....Kh8
2.Bxh6 g6
3.Bg7+ Kg8
4.Qh8#

You are forgetting the time required to set up the position on the computer! When puzzles are this easy, it's much faster to solve them yourself than to set it up on a chess engine to have the silicon solve it. Of course, it doesn't take long if you can copy and paste the FEN, as you can here. I don't know, it was just an attempt to explain the fairly long solution time.

This took me forever
because there were so many key moves that seemed to work quite well but didn't lead to mate. An abundance of riches is always harder for me than a situation where only one attack actually works.

What is the point of ...
... solving these problems with a computer? This is a tactical training, so of ourse you use your mind. You can analyze afterwards, after you made 2 wrong moves.
