Yes, and draws are unusual as the best result here, and
by the end of the problem black has equalized material, which makes the draw seem even more unlikely as correct.

But analysis of the board forces the conclusion that black must indeed force the draw to avoid the loss.

So, actually, the faux criticisms above amount to a criticism that this exercise is more realistic than most of the exercises here--which amounts to a kind of compliment.
