Repeat of Daily Puzzle? Missing Daily Puzzles?
Was this puzzle a daily puzzle back on March 11, 2014 even though it was also a daily puzzle on April 24th, 2024?

puzzle #8836

Many of its comments are from 11-Mar-2014 and several of those comments refer to it as the "easy" puzzle.

When I looked through the history of daily puzzles, there were no entries for 11-Mar-2014. Both the hard and easy puzzles are missing.

Was today's daily puzzle repeated? Why repeat it after a decade?

Why are entries for 11-Mar-2014 missing?

I don’t think the system is taking new entries into the schedule, it’s simply recycling old puzzles. If so, it’s a bit of a turn off.

I do not play the puzzles. But,is it possible that an old puzzle can simply duplicate itself, but not intentionally again as a repeat position, simply by chance?Again,I do not get into GK puzzles, but was just wondering.

Quite a few puzzles have come back through, it seems like a recurring loop. I like to do the occasional easy one, just to boost the confidence.

Thanks myrydin.I was just curious about others, including kingdawar who seems to be at or near the top with these puzzles.Puzzles are not my cup of tea. However,I present "puzzles"to others all the time in blitz play, setting up my opponent under time constraint with many types of positions for them to do the opposite....avoid mate upon themselves in 5 minutes or less. So,its a puzzle and a trap for them to try and escape from my Q sacs in the opening to double Rook sacs in the opening. Many of my opponents are 1800+ to 2100,if not higher. Some have no rating yet or are as high as 2300+and still lose to my sacs.My "puzzles"are of a "psychological"motif in nature, and brings out the "overconfidence"in my opponents, especially those with lower than 1800 in rating, kind of like a lesson. So,yes,it is a full game and not a puzzle as such, but "my game"of deception can be viewed as a kind of puzzle for many of my opponents who think that I am a fool or a dumb loser to give my Q away by move #3 or my Rooks away, early in the game.Sure,if they had 3 days a move to think about it,yes,I would be crushed. But "I"set the time limit this time, not them, except when they appear on my board under the same 5 min limit that they set up,so its the same thing:

So..."I"present puzzles to others to try and kill me in 5 minutes or less. Not all,but about 85% of my past opponents fail the "test".Now,that is from my old club years ago,but it still has value to many of my old readers, including my added in gallows humor to add "spice".

Now above and with those blitz gems from the past(and I have many more),some would just say well...that is just a much higher rated player crushing a lower rated player. But see, thats not really the way it is.Why?Because I just handicapped myself a full Queen in the opening or 9 points in value. And the Rook sac link illustrates a full 10 point handicap. So that does indeed,or is supposed to "level"the playing field and give the lesser rated opponent an immediate strong edge. So,my opponents must then later look back and reflect upon "why"they lost and where they lost.
Usually, they are weaker than they feel they are in tactics and positional play. They leave a hole or
a weakly controlled center and then I begin my dance of death on them.In many ways seen and unseen, the very SAME weakness's reappear in my opponents long GK games where they lose due to positional weakness's and lack of chess theory. So,my games may be blitz, but even blitz can tell the story of just how some opponents become overconfident or let their guard down.
