- - The Annotation Project III - -This starting position is almost equal to the position we used in the first projects. But now it emerged from the Caro Khan opening instead of the Birds opening and grand prix attack.. 1. e4 c6 2. f4 d5 3. Nf3 dxe4 4. Ng5 Nf6 5. Bc4 Bg4 6. Qxg4 Nxg4 There wil be a few new faces in this tournament, who i think have to study a bit on the annotated games from the first and the second project to have a chance.. The Familiar faces from the first 2 projects will have a hard time, because they have no database to guide them true the variations. So they have to practice what they have learnt from the first projects. gameknot.com gameknot.com I still like each of you to annotate at least 1 of the games played. ( and post it here) |

ow extra noteSo this is a dangerous Field test, where whites attack has even more potential then in the other 2 variations. But if white mikes the slightest mistake the game balance swings over to black.. So use the rules carefully the rules can be found in the other project threads... |

I have an annotation! The Dentist, aka my buddy Tofuman can look on this game with some pride - it just goes to show that it is certainly not easy (pardon the pun here!) playing black in this version of the Queen Sac. Here is the game. gameknot.com Underestimate The Dentist at your peril! Cheers Joanne |

And a msg from IM Dana MacKenzieSame as i dith with the first 2 projects... and in his reply we got food for additional annotation project regarding this opening.. here is the mail.. ------------------------------------- Hi Freddy, It's great to hear from you! I will definitely be interested to see the games, and to see whether I am correct that White is doing even better here than in the "nuke the Sicilian" line. However, what I would be even more interested in would be the "declined" gambit in both cases, i.e. 1. e4 c5 2. f4 d5 3. Nf3 de 4. Ng5 Nf6 5. Bc4 e6 and 1. e4 c6 2. f4 d5 3. Nf3 de 4. Ng5 Nf6 5. Bc4 e6 What are the plans for White and Black, and does the position of the pawn on c6 rather than c5 make a difference? (As mentioned in my blog, I think it does matter, because it gives Black the option of playing ... b5 and ... a5.) Does Black stand better in the second line, or is it just even? Although these lines are more boring than the queen sac variation, I think they are more important for practical tournament play (as opposed to theme tournaments!). Dana ----------------------------- I hope he will login to GK and add some comments here and there.. he is know as odododo |
