Annotated chess game

Besides the Philidor, this position is often seen in the Steintiz Defense to the Ruy Lopez. 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5 d6 4. d4 exd4 5. Qxd4!?.

I also reached this position from an annotated game my dad taught me when White plays Bb5, but the opponents weren't the same.

You notate like those of the old language? Cool. Not many people notate like that.

I don't really get how the amateur attacks. There is no pin on the N on f6 and there is no pressure on the h7 pawn.  

Instead of Re8, can black play Rc8?, controlling the open file?

At this point, White's plan should be to play Bxf6, after black plays gxf6, then the rook battery decides.

But now black can play Bxf6, since he need no worry about the e8 rook.
